The RTG NASC Summer Internship is a one-week long program open to all high school students currently enrolled in 11th grade. Participants will be introduced to numerical mathematics and scientific computing. Each day will
be a combination of lectures on pre-calculus and calculus concepts, an introduction to programming
in Matlab or Python, and computer lab sessions. Students will also learn about college applications, university campus life, and careers in computational and applied mathematics.
The program is free for all participants. Registration is required: download the application form and Participation Agreement form, fill them out and email them to: riviere at rice dot edu.Â
The program will take place on the Rice campus from August 3 to August 7, 2026. The organizers of the program are Dr. Thomas Anderson, Dr. Matthias Heinkenschloss, Dr. Beatrice Riviere and Dr. Lu Zhang.
