The one-day workshop on Scientific Machine Learning (SciML) took place on February 27, 2025, in the BRC at Rice University. Speakers include Benjamin Peherstorfer (NYU), Charbel Farhat (Stanford), Benjamin Peherstorfer (NYU), Elizabeth Qian (Georgia Tech), and Jonas Actor (Sandia National Lab). The workshop schedule with titles and abstracts is available here. The SciML workshop follows the annual two-day Energy HPC Conference at the BRC at Rice University by the Ken Kennedy Institute.

Tuesday, September 24 will be the first Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing (NASC) Seminar Series in DCH 3076 from 11:00AM-12:00PM. Our first speaker is Loic Cappanera from the University of Houston. Please see the calendar for more details. More seminars are scheduled for Fall 2024.
The Fall RTG orientation meeting took place on August 30, 2024 from 12-1pm in Duncan Hall 1064.
August 5-9, 2024. The RTG hosted a NASC Summer Internship to rising high school seniors for an introduction to scientific computing (Python) and computational modeling. RTG graduate students Jonathan Cangelosi, Cito Balsells, Raven S. Johnson, and Raymond Park all contributed talks, as did RTG postdoc Keegan Kirk and faculty Lu Zhang, Beatrice Riviere, Matthias Heinkenschloss, and Jesse Chan.
June 10-14, 2024. The RTG hosted the Summer Math Days to introduce mathematics in various applications to high school students.
April 19-20, 2024. Annual Ranch Retreat: The RTG NASC Ranch Retreat is an annual meeting bringing together students and postdocs from surrounding universities who are interested in Numerical Mathematics and Scientific Computing.
RTG core faculty Beatrice Riviere and Jesse Chan, along with RTG graduate students Ray Qu, Christina Taylor, Arshia Singhal, and undergraduate Mark Lopatofsky attended or helped organize the 2024 Finite Element Rodeo. An article on this is available here.
RTG graduate students Bilyana Tzolova, Arshia Singhal, Adrian Celaya, Raven Johnson, Yimin Lin, Christina Taylor, Dane Grundvig, Anwar Khaddaj, John Steinman, Alejandro Diaz, as well as RTG undergraduates Yimo Wang, Samuel Kwan, postdoc Dr. Keegan Kirk all presented at the SIAM TX-LA 2023 Sectional Meeting.
